We’ve recently launched an expanded Preferred Member Program to include restaurants outside the city limits and providers such as hotels, retail outlets, points of interest, furniture stores and other service providers. The result? We’ve more than doubled the program in just a few short months, with more than 60 Preferred Members who have gone through training so that we can better serve you, our visitors.
We are so proud to announce this program to enhance business training in order to raise the standards of cleanliness, community involvement and most importantly, service standards throughout High Point and the surrounding areas.
“The key to success in the hospitality business falls squarely on the shoulders of its workforce,” says Lynn Minges, president of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA), which endorses High Point’s program. “Employing a highly skilled and knowledgeable staff, makes proper training more important than ever. The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Preferred Member Program helps ensure that hospitality workers in restaurants and lodging, as well as retail and many other service providers, are well-trained and equipped to provide guests with the very best possible experience.”
Some 150,000 visitors come to High Point annually to attend the High Point Market, held each April and October. Another 75,000 additional visitors shop for furniture here, and more than 80,000 attend functions at High Point University. Other tourism activities include conventions, trade shows, festivals and community events.
We highly recognize and appreciate that the discretionary dollars that visitors spend here are significant to our local economy and provide critical support to area hotels, restaurants, caterers and other businesses. As a result, we understand and value your high level of expectations for quality service, whether it is for a lodging establishment, restaurant, catered event or any other service provider.
As we attract an increasing number of visitors to High Point for furniture shopping, conventions, events and other tourist attractions in our area, we plan to serve you by:
- Partnering with regional service providers to ensure that High Point is a destination that meets the high expectations of quality and service of our visitors.
- Aggressively marketing and selling High Point as a great choice for a convention destination to groups planning future trade shows, conventions and sporting events.
